Hidden Cenote in the Jungle

Clear turquoise water fills a hidden cenote under thick jungle growth. Pale limestone walls curve around the pool, rough and mossy where the rock meets shadow. Long vines hang from the rim, exposed roots grip the right wall, and a narrow beam of sunlight falls through the leaves onto the water.

Pale limestone remains visible beneath the clearest water, while shaded areas deepen from turquoise to blue. Above the pool, hanging vines form long vertical strands that contrast with the branching roots on the right. Moss softens parts of the rock, but small cavities stay dark. Those changes of material are useful in the green sections, where a leaf, a root and a moss-covered ledge can share similar colors.
