Mountain Trail

A dirt path curves across a flowered mountainside toward a rugged line of distant peaks. Fir trees rise along the slope, with yellow, purple and red blooms scattered through the grass beside the trail. Thin cloud softens the blue sky without hiding the mountain profile.

The footpath bends between grass and exposed stones on the hillside. Its pale surface has a clearer edge than the scattered flowers nearby. Fir trees rise in dark pointed shapes, with smaller trees appearing farther down the valley. Beyond them, patches of snow follow the mountain gullies rather than forming an even white band. Tiny foreground flowers have distinct petals; those farther along the slope appear as dots among the grass.
