Ice Cave with a Frozen Waterfall

Blue ice curves around a frozen waterfall inside this glacier cave. The waterfall hangs in heavy white ridges against darker rock, while the cave walls twist into translucent layers of cyan and deep blue. Daylight enters through a narrow opening at the back, brightening the rippled ice floor as it leads toward the entrance.

Vertical frozen streams make the waterfall the easiest landmark, with each ridge catching a different strip of light. The cave walls ask for a slower eye because their blue tones repeat, yet bubbles, cracks and smooth arcs keep the shapes from flattening out. Ripples across the floor provide a steady path through the lower half, changing from bright reflected blue near the entrance to darker glassy patches in the foreground.
