Otters beside a Fallen Willow

One otter stands on a mossy bank beneath a fallen willow, its wet whiskers bright against the dark fur. A second otter rises from the stream in front, with only its shoulders and long body above the ripples. Their faces are turned towards the viewer, while the willow trunk arches across the top of the scene.

Clear water runs over brown and grey stones, catching small flashes of sky between the roots. Willow leaves hang down from the branches, and moss covers the exposed wood along the bank. The animals make strong starting points, but the river has many similar shapes. Look for whiskers, bark cracks, leaf clusters and the changing lines of the current as you move outward.
