Sea Lions on a Rocky Shore

Six sea lions rest across black coastal rocks while surf moves through the channels behind them. One sits high at the left, another lifts its head near the middle, and a pale animal stretches along the foreground. Tide pools collect blue reflections between clumps of golden grass, and wet fur shifts from sandy tan to deep brown across the group.

Glossy backs, whiskers and flippers make strong early anchors. After those larger forms are joined, barnacled stones and narrow foam lines give the shoreline a steady rhythm. Grass blades and shallow pools add smaller clues across the front, while the broken waves keep the upper edge active without turning the water into one flat blue area.
