Shoebill among Papyrus Stems

A shoebill hunts by standing almost perfectly still, sometimes for a very long time, until a lungfish comes up to breathe. Then the whole bird lunges and collapses onto it bill first, often coming up with a mouthful of weeds along with the fish. This one stands among wet papyrus stems, its pale yellow eye fixed on something out of view. That huge mottled bill fills most of the shoebill jigsaw puzzle.
