Flamingos at a Shallow Lagoon

Pink flamingos wade through the shallow lagoon, their curved necks making looping lines above the water. Reflected legs break beneath the rippled surface, while salt grasses gather along the low shore. Pale turquoise and pink share the scene without losing the birds' silhouettes.

Necks are easiest when followed from beak to shoulder, since their bends differ from bird to bird. Feathers shift from coral to almost white along the body. Reflections are darker and broken by horizontal water lines, so keep them below the surface boundary. The salt grass provides small upright groups around the edges of the picture.
