Snowcat at a Mountain Service Hut

Fresh grooves run away from the snowcat toward a timber service hut. Its broad blade rests low against the snow, and black tracks sit beneath a red cab with frost around the windows. Pale mountains fill the distance without swallowing the smaller mechanical details in the foreground.

You can build quite a lot from the tread pattern alone. Each dark segment changes angle as it passes around the track wheels, giving those pieces a definite position. Snow ridges are a different kind of repetition, with long lines that narrow into the distance. Keep the blue shade under the blade separate from the flatter white patches near the horizon.
