Type Cases in a Print Shop

Shallow wooden trays cover the print shop bench, each divided into little compartments of metal type. More cases stand behind them, tilted so their contents catch the window light. Some sections are almost empty; others are packed with narrow blocks and curved ornaments. The handles and tray edges are worn smooth.

This is one of the busier puzzles in the batch. Begin with a tray's outer frame and work inward through its dividers. Similar compartments can be told apart by the amount of metal inside and the direction of the shadows. The silver highlights are scattered rather than evenly spaced, which helps once the larger wooden sections are joined.
