Bamboo Forest Path

Bamboo is a grass. Each new stalk comes out of the ground already as thick as it will ever get, then shoots upward, in some kinds by as much as 3 feet in a day. A winding stone path leads through a tall green grove in a bamboo forest jigsaw puzzle that stays cool and shady. Some bamboos flower only once in several decades. When they do, whole stands of the same kind tend to bloom together.
