Brick Water Tower with a Riveted Metal Tank

A water tower lets a town get by with smaller pumps. They fill the tank overnight, when hardly anyone is running a tap. In the morning rush, gravity sends the water down faster than the pumps alone could manage. This one is an old round tower of red brick crowned with a riveted iron tank and a narrow railed walkway, its walls streaked dark where rain has run down them. It's a water tower jigsaw puzzle with arched windows and a lot of brick. Plenty of retired ones have been turned into homes.
