Taj Mahal Reflected in the Pool

Soft sunrise light reaches the Taj Mahal while the long pool carries a clear reflection of the dome and minarets. Cypress trees mark both sides of the garden axis, with red sandstone paths and clipped hedges leading toward the marble platform. Small flower beds and cloud patterns keep the scene from resting on one pale sky or one smooth stretch of water.

Marble arches and the large dome give the picture its first solid anchors. After that, the tall cypress shapes can be matched against their darker reflections, while the stone paths form strong lines along the pool. The reflected building is quieter than the monument above it, so ripples, finials and broken cloud shapes become useful clues near the end.
