Canal Boats beside a Flower Market

Long narrow boats sit beside a flower market on a calm city canal, their dark hulls mirrored in the water. Buckets of tulips, hydrangeas and small mixed blooms crowd the bank beneath pale awnings. Brick façades, bicycles and a low bridge continue the scene towards the distance.

The nearest boat gives the lower right a broad curved outline, followed by the bright flower buckets along its deck. Sort the blooms by petal shape and color before joining them to the wooden crates. Canal reflections should stay below their matching hulls and façades, but their edges will be softer. Bicycles add circles and thin spokes beside the bank. Leave the distant bridge and upper windows for the last pieces, when the canal direction is settled.
