Dubrovnik from the City Walls

Dubrovnik spreads out below the city walls in a dense patchwork of terracotta roofs and pale limestone. The wall walkway runs down the left edge, while towers, domes and church fronts rise from the old town. Beyond the harbor, small boats cross the blue Adriatic and a green island sits against the horizon.

Roof tiles are the busiest part, but their slopes point in different directions and keep the orange sections readable. The stone wall on the left is a useful border, followed by green shutters, chimneys and narrow lanes between the houses. Bell towers and domes break the skyline before the view opens into water. Boats and harbor walls add small, sharp clues where the town meets the sea.
