Ferry Crossing beneath a Pink Sky

A small ferry crosses calm water beneath layers of pink, coral and lavender cloud. Its wake curves back towards the lower right, while dark wooded islands form a low band across the horizon. Warm lights glow from the ferry windows, giving the broad pastel scene a few sharp points.

The ferry is the first compact group to find, especially its bright cabin and dark hull. Build the wake next, following the broken lines as they widen across the water. The islands have different treetop shapes even though they share one deep color. Sort the sky by cloud edges rather than pink tones alone. Leave the open water for the end, when the horizon and wake show where its quieter pieces belong.
