Glowing Tide Pools

Blue-green tide pools shine between black volcanic rocks as the last pink light fades over the ocean. Sea stars and pale shells sit near the foreground pools, while wet ridges carry small reflections toward the distant surf. The electric color in the water feels almost luminous, but the pools vary in depth and shape rather than repeating as a flat patch of turquoise.

Build each bright pool as its own island. Curved rock edges, seaweed and the occasional shell will show which pieces belong together, and the connected islands gradually reveal the darker channels between them. The sea stars are excellent anchors in the busy foreground.

Along the top, the horizon and narrow sunset bands form a completely different, calmer section. Dark rocks may take the longest, so compare their wet highlights and rough textures instead of relying on color alone.
