Maine Coon by a Fireplace

A broad-shouldered Maine Coon rests across a red-and-indigo rug in front of a rough stone hearth. Long brown tabby fur falls in uneven layers around its chest, while pale ear tufts and green-gold eyes hold the center of the picture. Split logs rise behind the cat's left side, and the fire on the right catches the edges of its whiskers without washing out the darker coat.

Long strands of chest fur fall over the front legs, but the shorter fur on the face has much finer stripes. The pale muzzle, ear tufts and whiskers form small interruptions in the brown coat. Behind the cat, split logs have angular ends and rounded bark edges, distinct from the rough stone around the fire. The rug is busier still, with tiny cream and blue motifs close to the paws.
