Petra Treasury at Dawn

The carved facade of Petra's Treasury stands between tall sandstone walls. Early light catches its columns and pediments, leaving the entrance dark beneath the lower portico. On the left, a close canyon wall curves into the frame with smooth bands of red and brown stone. Rougher ledges surround the building on the right, above worn steps and loose rocks across the foreground.

Column lines are the best place to start, followed by the dark doorway and the sharp ledges above it. Canyon walls need closer attention, but their colors are not all the same. The left side has smoother red curves, while the right wall carries darker holes and rougher blackened patches. Small rocks near the base help join the facade to the dusty floor when the larger architectural pieces are already in place.
