Redwood Forest Sunbeams

Tall redwood trunks frame both sides of the path, their bark split into long reddish ridges. The largest trunks are close enough to show moss, cracks and pale scars in the wood. Between them, smaller trees and ferns fill the damp green floor.

Morning light drops through the mist in clear beams, brightest near the center of the grove. The dirt path bends away between the ferns, with exposed roots and needles scattered across it. Fallen logs run along the lower edges of the picture, dark under their moss. The puzzle has strong vertical lines in the trees, then a softer tangle of leaves and shadows near the ground.
