Ribbon Studies in Coral and Navy

Wide ribbons fold over one another in a loose study of coral, navy and cream. Some loops show the smooth colored face, while others turn just enough to reveal the darker reverse. The ribbons cross and disappear beneath each other, leaving pockets of warm paper between the larger shapes.

Begin with the broad coral sections and follow their edges through each bend. Navy folds are darker but not flat; their satin grain changes as the light moves across them. The cream ribbon is useful around the outside, especially where it creates a clean curve against the background. Once the main loops are together, look for the narrow seams, overlapping shadows and small changes in the fabric's sheen.
