Sunlit Arcade with a Mosaic Floor

Morning light slips through the arches and lands in broken shapes across the mosaic floor. Square columns divide the arcade into measured sections, while the far opening frames a small green garden. Terracotta, cream and blue tiles keep the lower half busy without hiding the long lines of the stonework.

The floor is easiest when built one color band at a time. Check each tile against the direction of the perspective lines, since a similar blue can belong to a different row. Columns offer dependable vertical anchors. After those are in place, the repeated arches become a sequence of curved openings rather than a pile of unrelated pale pieces.
