Woodland Stream

A narrow woodland stream slips beneath a fallen, moss-covered tree. Ferns crowd both banks, and rounded boulders rise from the shallow water under a dense green canopy. The scene is intimate and shaded, with only small flashes of light on the current and wet stone.

A fallen trunk crosses the water above the foreground rocks. Thick moss follows its length, while ferns on the banks spread outward in smaller divided fronds. Beneath the log, a dark gap marks the stream's route into the trees. Wet boulders catch short silver highlights beside smoother pools. Most of the picture shares a green cast, but rough bark, velvety moss and clear water have quite different edges and surface patterns.
