Cherry Blossoms in Washington

Cherry trees lean over the Tidal Basin on a clear spring morning, with the Jefferson Memorial standing across the water. Near the bank, flowers are large enough to show individual petals; more distant blossoms merge into smaller pale clusters. The reflections soften both the pink trees and white stone, adding horizontal ripples beneath their sharper shapes.
