Lavender Rows at Dusk

Long lavender rows run towards the low hills, making a set of purple lines that narrow into the distance. The closest plants are full of individual flower spikes and green stems, with a few bees hovering above them. A narrow stony path cuts straight through the middle and gives the foreground a warm brown break from the violet beds.

Beyond the field, olive trees and dark cypress shapes sit against a broad valley. The sun has just reached the hills, leaving peach light along the horizon and blue-grey colour in the upper sky. Follow the central path first, then work out from its edges through the dense foreground. The distant rows are softer, but their repeated curves are still easy to track once the large groups are in place.
